Managing the complex Sydney CityRail network is a tricky business and involves exceptional communication and co-ordination among the many staff in the Rail Management Centre at Central station.
As emergency incidents occur - or even as evidence pointing to potential incidents arises - those responsible for an effective response have to be ready to detect problems and implement solutions that reliably and safely resolve the issues at hand.
Due to our long relationship with RailCorp, we are now developing an integrated simulation program that will facilitate effective practice of these complex capabilities.
Trials of the simulation are expected to begin in March or April 2007.
